Redcliffs
This Redcliffs garden extends across a large, steep hillside. The planting palette draws on subtle subtropical influences, with species selected for fire resistance and arranged in graduated heights to draw the eye outward towards the expansive northern view. This language is echoed in the feature pots on the deck, reinforcing a cohesive connection between built and planted elements.
Hedged planting at the entrance establishes a clear and deliberate arrival sequence, reflecting the architectural lines of the house. Structured hedges are balanced with contained drifts of Lomandra, palms and pukas, creating a composition that feels ordered yet relaxed.
Throughout, the planting is layered and textural, carefully attuned to the exposed coastal conditions. An integrated fire-suppression system complements the fire-resistant planting, providing an additional layer of protection across the site.
Accelerated planting systems allowed the landscape to establish rapidly, lending the garden a sense of maturity from the outset. A contemporary aesthetic, the landscape feels established, purposeful and calmly resolved.
